AJ Auxerre vs Real Madrid Highlights: Champions League
Jose Mourinho had to thank substitute Angel Di Maria as he scored a crucial goal to earn Real Madrid a deserved Champions League win at Auxerre tonight.
The winger volleyed in Mesut Ozil’s cross nine minutes from time to settle what had looked another match where the Spanish giants had enjoyed most of the possession but failed to convert chances into goal against a well organised Auxerre.
Marcelo’s block from Ireneusz Jelen ensured there was no late twist in this match and Real could celebrate a second straight victory and clean sheet in Group G.

Real Madrid vs Espanyol Highlights
Cristiano Ronaldo, Gonzalo Higuain and Karim Benzema were all on target as Real Madrid claimed a Hard earned 3-0 victory over Espanyol in a high tempered encounter which also saw three players sent off at the Bernabeu.
Ronaldo opened the scoring with a twice-taken penalty in the first half and then Higuain and substitute Benzema added two more in the final 11 minutes.
Neither side finished the match with a full set of players, with Madrid defender Pepe the first to be sent off in the 60th minute, before Espanyol duo Ernesto Galan (63) and Juan Forlin (89) also received their marching orders.
The result means Madrid now have 10 points from four games and top the table under new coach Jose Mourinho, while Espanyol remain eight with six points.
The final scoreline may have looked convincing but it was a far from comfortable victory for the star-studded Spanish giants, who struggled to get the better of a well-organised and disciplined Espanyol side in the early minutes.

Real Sociedad vs Real Madrid Highlights: Spanish Primera División
Real Madrid temporarily moved to the top of the Primera Division table, after defeating Real Sociedad in a hard-fought and battling encounter at the Anoeta stadium this evening.
Madrid rode their luck on occasion against a spirited Sociedad side in the first half before taking a 51st-minute lead through Angel Di Maria’s superb strike.
That advantage lasted just 11 minutes though before veteran striker Raul Tamudo equalized for Sociedad, the first goal Madrid have conceded in four competitive games under new coach Jose Mourinho.
Madrid again gained the lead and eventually won their first away game thanks to a huge slice of luck in the 74th minute.
Cristiano Ronaldo, looking for his first goal of the season, fired in a 25-yard free-kick that took a big deflection off team-mate Pepe standing in the wall and Sociedad goalkeeper Claudio Bravo could only watch as the ball ballooned past him and into the far top corner of the net.
The victory lifts Madrid on to seven points from three games and to the top of the standings, although they could be replaced tomorrow depending on how Atletico Madrid, Valencia and Sevilla fare in their matches.
