Julio Baptista earned 10-man Roma a point against Sampdoria today to keep them in the fray for fourth spot and a place in the Champions League qualifiers next season.

Roma lost Marco Motta to a second yellow card after 62 minutes, but leveled with a penalty from Baptista in the 70th minute to take a point back to the capital with them.

Felipe put the visitors ahead in the 54th minute, but substitute Mirko Vucinic replied seven minutes later to level the score.

The Eternal City outfit did their best to claim a winner but Udinese defended deeply as the Giallorossi failed to move above Fiorentina into fourth position.

The outcome marked Roma’s second consecutive draw after last weekend4s 3-3 result at Inter Milan and leaves the Giallorossi one point behind Fiorentina, who host Palermo tomorrow.
