Argentina vs Venezuela Highlights: WC Qualifiers Highlights
From the kick-off it was evident there was only ever going to be one winner, and Argentina proved their dominance with a high-scoring victory on Diego Maradona’s official debut.
As expected Argentina started the stronger of the two sides, and they pushed forward in large numbers as they looked to score an early goal.
After much pressure, Argentina finally went ahead in the 25th minute wit Lionel Messi beating the offside trap and slotting home after a superb one-two with Carlos Tevez.
Only one minute into the second half Manchester United striker Tevez doubled Argentina’s advantage when he met a Messi cross with a well-timed volley.
Six minutes later Maximiliano Rodriguez added their third goal with another volley, which this time was deflected into the back of the net by a Venezuelan defender.
Venezuela lacked sufficient quality to match their opponents, and were completely overwhelmed throughout the second half.
At this stage a confident Argentina slowed down the pace, and enjoyed their huge lead with some slick passing in the midfield.
The two-time world champions completely controlled their opponents, and although they had taken their foot off the pedal they continued to look dangerous and scored the fourth through Sergio Aguero.

Spain vs Turkey Highlights: WC Qualifiers Highlights
Spain continued their seemingly unstoppable march towards the World Cup finals by easing past Turkey in the battle between the top two teams in Group Five.
Gerard Pique scored the only goal of a closely-fought encounter at the Bernabeu as Spain made it five wins out of five in qualifying, leaving them six points clear of second-placed Bosnia-Herzegovina.
The victory also extended the European champions’ unbeaten run to 30 matches – of which 28 have ended in victory.
However, Vicente del Bosque’s side were slow out of the blocks at the start of the game and can consider themselves lucky enough not to have fallen behind early on.
Del Bosque’s men will now go to Istanbul for Wednesday’s return meeting against the Turks knowing a good result would leave them on the brink of a place in next year’s finals.

Portugal vs Sweden Highlights: WC Qualifiers Highlights
Portugal’s chances of getting back into contention for the top two slots in Group One took a blow after a disappointing stalemate at home to Sweden, whose European Championship qualification hopes are also in the balance.
There was no shortage of half-chances in the match but a lack of cutting edge in the final third leaves both teams trailing in the wake of pace-setters Denmark and Hungary.

Netherlands vs Scotland Highlights: WC Qualifiers Highlights
Headers from Klaas Jan Huntelaar and Robin van Persie and a Dirk Kuyt penalty gave Holland a comfortable and easy win over Scotland in their World Cup qualifier at the Amsterdam ArenA.
The Scots were made to pay for the chance Kenny Miller spurned early in the game when Real Madrid striker Huntelaar headed in a Mark van Bommel cross after 29 minutes.
Any hopes of a Scotland comeback were crushed right on the break when Van Persie headed in from an Arjen Robben cross.
There was more misery for George Burley’s brave but inferior side after the interval.
Scotland defender Gary Caldwell had a goal mysteriously chalked off by referee Laurent Duhamel before Kuyt scored from the spot in the 76th minute after Christophe Berra had fouled Huntelaar in the box.
There was no real surprise about the result but Scotland now need to take three points against Iceland at Hampden on Wednesday to keep their chances of reaching the World Cup alive.
