Things ended at 0-0 at half time in Vienna. Pavlyuchenko and Torres had their share of chances, but the shots lacked venom. The sad news for Spain would be that their top scorer David Villa was taken off the pitch. This means that Torres would be the lone striker. Arshavin has not been so comfortable with the ball, the way he dictated the last two games.

Well I feel Spain were the better side in the first 45 mins and I fancy them to score. But, Russia cant be written of either… What do you guys think..??

Dmitri Torbinski and Andrei Arshavin strikes in the extra time ensured that the Russians ended Dutch romance with the European championship which has eluded them from past twenty years.

Arshavin turned to be the assassin again, as he controlled the ball well and even scored the third and final goal. Russians should have sealed the match early on through Torbinski, but he failed to connect and Van Nistelrooy levelled things in the 86th minute.

But the highly energetic Russians were no match to the Dutch and Dmitri Torbinski and Andrei Arshavin ensured Russian glory.
