Manchester City vs Newcastle United Highlights
Super-sub Adam Johnson once again came the rescue of Manchester City at Eastlands as they beat Newcastle 2-1. Three minutes after being introduced into a fierce encounter that was scarred at the start when Hatem Ben Arfa suffered a suspected broken leg, Johnson provided a moment of magic to turn the contest his side’s way and collect all three points.
Johnson collected James Milner’s square pass and wriggled between Jose Enrique and Joey Barton before rifling a precise shot past Tim Krul. It was harsh luck on the Magpies, who responded superbly to the loss of Ben Arfa and a debatable penalty from Carlos Tevez and seemed good value for a point once Jonas Gutierrez had leveled.
But Johnson had other ideas as he kept City’s multi-million pound bandwagon rolling, even if manager Roberto Mancini continues to deny that his side are tittle contenders.

Manchester City vs Juventus Highlights: UEFA Cup
Manchester City survived a late scare to collect a valuable point from a 1-1 draw in their high-profile Europa League clash with Juventus. Roberto Mancini’s men had run out of attacking ideas themselves when veteran forward Alessandro Del Piero strode up to fire a free-kick off the underside of Joe Hart’s crossbar.
Del Piero claimed the ball bounced in, but the merits of a goal-line assistant were plain to see as the official correctly ruled it had come down straight outside the goal-line.
It ensured parity for City against the team Mancini used to support as a six-year-old after Adam Johnson had levelled Vincenzo Iaquinta’s early opener before the break. City did not really deserve any more and Emmanuel Adebayor was particularly poor.
However, if they can come out with a win in back-to-back meetings with Polish champions Lech Poznan which now follow, the Blues should advance to the knock-out phase without too much trouble.

Manchester City vs Chelsea Highlights: EPL Highlights
After handing Chelsea the title on Friday, Roberto Mancini watched his Manchester City side easily snatch it away again as Carlos Tevez’s second-half strike ended Blue’s unbeaten campaign with a 1-0 win.
In a match which was largely dominated by defenses Tevez’s moment of inspiration just before the hour proved to be decisive. Chelsea were unable to halt the City inspirational skipper’s run from halfway and he found the perfect finish too, through Ashley Cole’s legs and in to the post.
Carlo Ancelotti’s men worked hard to force an equaliser, but, just as they had done for most of the contest, they failed to open up a disciplined City defense and came no nearer than the header Branislav Ivanovic struck the bar with before half-time.
The result signalled City can join Manchester United and Arsenal in harbouring genuine hopes of glory next May.
