Chelsea moved to top of the Premier League with a fluid destruction of new boys Burnley at Stamford Bridge.

Burnley, victors over Manchester United and Everton in their last two games, could not match an exciting Chelsea side.

Goals from Nicolas Anelka, Michael Ballack and Ashley Cole ensured Chelsea retained their 100% record. If not for an inspired performance by Burnley goalkeeper Brian Jensen, the margin of victory would have been much greater.

Ghilas fired the decisive goal of a scrappy Barclays Premier League fixture at the KC Stadium after being set up by Altidore’s first touch with 61 minutes gone.

Emmanuel Adebayor’s blistering first-half effort proved good enough to earn victory for Manchester City on his home debut.

Although newly-promoted Wolves came close to an equalizer when Gary Keogh’s effort crashed back off the crossbar, anything other than a home win would have been cruel for Mark Hughes’ men, who totally dominated the first hour and created enough clear chances to win.

Wigan Athletic vs Manchester United Highlights: EPL Highlights

England striker Wayne Rooney joined the 100 club and Michael Owen got off the mark as Manchester United re-discovered their winning form in emphatic style, 5-0 at Wigan.

Rooney made the breakthrough in the 56th minute and got his second nine minutes later in a cracking second-half show.

In between, Dimitar Berbatov found the back of the net in the 58th minute as United bounced back from their humbling by newly promoted Burnley in midweek.

Owen made his mark in the 85th minute after replacing Rooney, and Nani completed the rout in stoppage time with a superb free-kick.
