Florent Malouda and Franco Di Santo kept up Chelsea’s 100 per cent pre-season record. The Blues had already beaten Inter Milan and AC Milan before seeing off Club America.
Two goals in two minutes from Malouda and Di Santo were good enough as Carlo Ancelotti’s side sealed victory in the World Football Challenge.

Mexico vs USA Highlights: CONCACAF Gold Cup final

Arsenal striker Carlos Vela scored and Tottenham’s Giovani Dos Santos was man of the match as Mexico trashed the USA 5-0 in the CONCACAF Gold Cup final.

It was an embarrassing drubbing for the United States at the Giants Stadium and was a record fifth Gold Cup for the hosts Mexico.

Surprisingly the first half remained goalless and the game turned on with a 56th-minute penalty. Dos Santos was brought down by Jay Heaps and Mexico skipper Gerardo Torrado beat Troy Perkins from the spot.

The Spurs man then netted himself to make it 2-0, before slipping a pass to substitute Vela who finished neatly from a wide angle to make it 3-0.

Vela, who had come on at half-time, supplied Jose Antonio Castro for the fourth and the US were rocked again with two minutes remaining when Heaps was sent off for a second yellow card.

Guillermo Franco struck the final blow in stoppage time to leave US in tatters at 5-0.
The two countries will meet again at the Azteca Stadium in Mexico City on August 12 in a World Cup qualifier.
