Brazil jumped into the second place in the South American World Cup qualifying group after easily beating Peru 3-0 in Porto Alegre.
Luis Fabiano scored twice and Fiorentina’s Felipe Melo got the third to secure all three ponits and put Dunga’s squad within reach of Paraguay, who sit three points ahead now at the top of the standings.
Following a disappointing stalemate with Ecuador on Sunday Brazil wasted no time in stamping their authority on this match.Luis Fabiano opened the scoring after 18 minutes from the penalty spot after Kaka was brought down in the box by Luiz Zambrano.
Nine minutes later the Sevilla forward made it 2-0 when he fired home a volleyed shot which had been laid up for him when Kleber chested the ball into his path.
Brazil did not take their foot off the gas in the second half, and three minutes after the hour mark Melo made it impossible for Peru to comeback by scoring the third after twisting and turning away from two defenders.
Peru threatened a consolation goal when former Newcastle and Hammers man Nolberto Solano crashed a long-range shot onto the bar.
But that shot aside Brazil were hardly threatened, allowing Dunga to rotate his squad and give some minutes to AC Milan pair Ronaldinho and Alexandre Pato.
