Malaga continued their surprising challenge for a European spot after producing a clinical display to see off struggling Getafe 2-1 in a match that exploded into life following a painfully slow start.

First-half strikes from Eliseu and Nabil Baha set the promoted Andalusian team on their way and although Getafe pulled one back through Cosmin Contra in the second half, the visitors held on for a victory that moves them up to fifth.
