Peru vs Chile Highlights: WC 2010 Qualifiers
Chile beat Peru 3-1 in a World Cup qualifier Sunday to jump past five-time world champions Brazil into third place in the South American tournament and crush any hopes of Peru qualifying for South Africa 2010.
Alexis Sanchez scored in the second minute while Humberto Suazo and Matias Fernandez added goals before and after half time to seal Chile’s first victory against its arch rival Peru in Lima in 24 years.
Peru, in last place in continental qualifying, had some serious problems creating opportunities against the Chileans. The Peruvian’s only goal came in the 33rd minute when forward John Fano beat the Chilean goalkeeper on a cross from Daniel Chavez.
After Sanchez’ early breakthrough, Chile maintained the tempo and buried Peru with goals by Suazo in the 31st minute and Fernandez in the 69th minute, the latter one from an error by keeper Leao Butron.
Peru’s star player Juan Vargas, a winger for Italy’s Fiorentina, was sent off in the 52nd minute after receiving two yellow cards, leaving the Peruvians one man short for the rest of the match.

Ecuador vs Brazil Highlights: World Cup 2010 Qualifiers
Cristian Noboa scored late to snatch a ponit for Ecuador against Brazil in a 1-1 draw in a World Cup Qualifying match.
Julio Baptista came in for Ronaldinho in the 71st minute and the first ball he kicked found the back of the net at the Estadio Olimpico Atahualpa in Quito.But Noboa pounced on a rebound two minutes from time to snatch a draw for the home side.
Ecuador kept Brazil goalkeeper Julio Cesar busy all evening, but it was Brazil who had the first chance to score when a fourth-minute attempt by Marcelo was denied by Cevallos.
From then on it was all Ecuador, with Julio Cesar making the first of his many saves in the 15th minute when stopping an Edison Mendez free-kick with his legs. Joffre Guerron got the rebound but Julio Cesar cleared again with his feet.
Wigan midfielder Antonio Valencia hit the post soon after before Giovanni Caicedo also went close. Guerron then forced Julio Cesar to make a spectacular save, but Luis Fabiano showed Brazil still posed a threat by testing the Ecuador stopper Jose Francisco Cevallos.
Julio Baptista opened the scoring seconds after entering the game with a shot that deflected off the post and Cevallos on its way in.Luis Fabiano then hit the left post, but Noboa pounced on Cristian Benitez’s saved shot to snatch a point.
Cristian Benitez could have won it for Ecuador in injury time but Julio Cesar denied him again.

Moldova vs Switzerland Highlights: World Cup 2010 Highlights
Switzerland moved level on points with World Cup Qualifying Group Two leaders Greece after victory over minnows Moldova, but they were made to work hard in the second half.
Goals from captain Alexander Frei and substitute Gelson Fernandes moved Switzerland on to 10 points, the same total as Greece after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Israel.Switzerland were clearly the stronger team at the Republican Stadium, and controlled the game from the early stages. The results means Switzerland wil occupy the second spot in Group two on goal difference
