Bayern Munich enjoyed a winning start to their Champions League campaign as they overcame a brave Steaua Bucharest side 1-0 on Wednesday.

Daniel Van Buyten scored the only goal of the game in the first half before the visitors held off a second-half onslaught in the Romanian capital.

Steaua were unlucky not to claim a point from the match they battled hard to score the equaliser and hit the wod work soon after interval.
