A late goal from defender Atsuto Uchida in the closing stages of the match gave Japan a 1-0 home win over Bahrain in a World Cup qualifier. Though both the teams have sealed their places in the final round of Asian 2010 World Cup qualifiers, the victory meant that Japan finished top of Group Two.
