Manu rested their key players like Wayne Rooney, Rio Ferdinand, Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs against wanderers. Ronaldo was the stand in captain for the night and he lead the team by scoring a brace thereby breaking the record for most goals in a season by a winger which was previously held by red devils legend George Best.

Carlos Tevez had an early chance to score the goal but he was denied and he earned a corner and Ronaldo struck. Nani took the corner and curled the ball into the top corner of the post.This was his 32nd goal of the season and 23rd in the league.

18th minute saw Bolton making a blazing run and it was lead by Danny Guthrie who was exceptionally all through the match, he sent a cross a Davies who shook off Gerard Pique and he slid in at the far post only to see Kuszczak make an excellent stop.

The miss proved to be very costly as Ronaldo increased the lead with yet another superb free kick from the Portuguese and he scored his 33rd goal of the season.

Second half saw a motivated Bolton side who displayed a spirited performance.

Manu had one more free kick but Nani took it a dive by Al Habsi kept the ball out. Bolton now gained momentum and took their shots at goal and Kuszczak was impermeable.

The Polish keeper was exceptional to block Diouf’s free kick, Nicky Hunt’s half volley and Gavin McCann’s low strike.

Manchester United were pushing for their third goal and Louis Saha should have sealed matters after a neat side-step but lost his cool and found the stands instead.

Nani had a string of chances but two of them were saved and one was missed.

Despite resting some key players Man u scored a comfortable victory over wanderers which saw them lead the table and a lead of three points against Arsenal.
